What is Measure A?

Measure A is on the November 2026 ballot to complete highway projects, speed up traffic and reduce bottlenecks and fix potholes and repair aging roads, bridges and highways — without raising taxes.

Why do we need Measure A?

​

Riverside County is one of the fastest growing counties in California, meaning more cars on our roadways. We spend too much time sitting in traffic and something must be done.

​

Also, most of our freeway system was built over 50 years ago and requires upgrading and safety retrofitting. 500 bridges require significant maintenance or replacement.

​

Independent road engineers have rated the condition of almost a quarter of our roads of all roads as “at risk,” “poor,” or “very poor.”

It’s time for action. Measure A will address these issues without raising taxes.

What projects will Measure A fund?

​

• Fix tens of thousands of potholes

• Finish highway projects and reduce bottlenecks

• Repair and upgrade bridges

• Create and support thousands of good-paying jobs

• Expand and improve regional connections and transit, especially for senior citizens and people with disabilities

Will Measure A increase taxes?

​

No! Measure A simply continues local funding from Measure A that has been in place for 37 years. This dedicated source of funding has qualified the County for over one billion dollars in state and federal matching funds that has supported infrastructure projects in every corner of the County.

Can I be sure funds will be spent as promised?

​

Yes! Measure A includes strict fiscal accountability protections and oversight, including:

​

• All funds must be used only for easing traffic jams, fixing roads and improving transportation in Riverside County

• No funds can be taken by state or federal government

• Required independent oversight and annual audits to ensure funds are spent as promised

• Funds cannot be used for any other purposes

How many good-paying jobs will Measure A generate?

​

Over the next 30 years, 168,000 jobs will be supported by the funds from Measure A, right here in Riverside County.

That’s 168,000 local families who will benefit from good wages resulting from construction and maintenance of our roads, highways, bridges and other transportation infrastructure.

What projects will be funded in Western Riverside County?

​

Measure A will fund projects in Riverside, Corona, Norco, Eastvale and the Temescal valley area, including:

​

• Improving traffic flow and safety, completing freeways, and reducing bottlenecks on the 15, 215, 60, 71, and 91

• Increasing passenger rail and bus frequency and keeping fares low for senior citizens and people with disabilities

• Fixing potholes, maintain streets, and improve major roads like Cajalco Road between I-15 and I-215, and Van Buren Boulevard

What projects will be funded in Southwest Riverside County?

Measure A will fund projects in in Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, and Wildomar, including:

• Improving traffic flow and safety, completing freeways, and reducing bottlenecks on the 15 and the 215

• Increasing passenger rail and bus frequency and keeping fares low for senior citizens and people with disabilities

• Fixing potholes, maintaining streets, and improving major roads like Grand Avenue in Lake Elsinore, finishing construction on the French Valley Parkway in Temecula, and constructing new auxiliary lanes on the 215 between Murrieta and Moreno Valley

What projects will be funded in Central Riverside County?

​

Measure A will fund projects in Moreno Valley, San Jacinto, Perris, and Hemet, by:

• Improving traffic flow and safety, completing freeways, and reducing bottlenecks on the 215 and 60

• Increasing passenger rail and bus frequency and keeping fares low for senior citizens and people with disabilities

• Fixing potholes, maintaining streets, and improving major roads like Gilman Springs Road and the Mid County Parkway connecting the 215 and 79

What projects will be funded in the Coachella Valley and Blythe area?

​

Measure A will fund projects in the Coachella Valley and Blythe areas, including:

• Improving traffic flow and safety, completing freeways, and reducing bottlenecks on the 10, 62, 74, 87, and 111

• Increasing passenger rail and bus frequency and keeping fares low for senior citizens and people with disabilities

• Fixing potholes, maintaining streets, and improving major roads like Fred Waring Drive, Gene Autry Trail, Palm Drive, Monterey Avenue, Bob Hope Drive, and Avenue 50

When do we vote on Measure A?

​

Measure A will appear on the November 3, 2026 ballot. All registered voters in Riverside County will receive a ballot in early October.

How much support does Measure A need to pass?

Measure A requires 66.67% approval from voters to be approved.
